Sisters....
Is there anyone else out there who's been trying for a baby for almost a year??
I feel like I'm the only one out there having a hard time getting pregnant.
I never expected it would take hubby and I this long. We've miscarried one in February & they investigated and found nothing wrong with us, we just haven't been successful yet.
Everyone I speak to is so happy to tell me how quick it happened for them, but nobody shares how long they struggled!
Any stories out there that ended in a successful baby after so long trying?
Please tell me, I'm struggling trying to stay positive! Also any hints or tips would be great! Am taking all the prenatals and folic acid I'm meant to.
Thanks ladies :)

Whilst we haven't been trying for as long as you I completely understand how you feel! My husband and I have been trying for what feels like ages and each time I get my period I feel deflated, we have had one chemical pregnancy and to see a positive test and then 6 hours later get my period is just horrible . Its so hard to stay positive when all you feel is disappointed. I personally hate the two weeks wait from when you ovulate til when your period is due, every little cramp twitch heavy feeling has you wondering is this it could I finally get my positive test.
Hang in there it's bound to happen soon
It took me 4 yrs of trying for bubba no 4. We started trying in 2011. In late 2011 I had an ovarian cyst rupture. 2013 I had a miscarriage and then in 2014 when we least expected ( we were completely shocked) I fell pregnant. We now have another gorgeous little girl who is nearly 10 months old. My only advice is just enjoy trying but dont try too hard. The perfect bub will come when the time is right. Good luck xoxo
Took us close to a year for baby number 1.
Nothing wrong with us.
Might i suggest if your not doing these things already to help increase tour chances.
1. Good sex.. Enjoy your self. ... Good sex means your wetter, making it easier for the sperm to swim and hubby will injeculate more.
2. What we did that help us conveive the following month was take conceive vitamins by blackmore for me and one the male verson for hubby too.
3. Evening primrose oil vitamines daily helps increase c.m (wetness)
4. Ovulation tests.. The cheap ones from
Ebay are great. I was ovulating at a different time the book suggests.
5. Jump on youtube and watch a short movie called "the great sperm race" it really put Things into perspective for you.
6. And this is the hardest part. Do your best to relax... And not stress... Your body works its best at a relaxed stage... (Even though the disapointment at the end of your cycle hindered this.
Plan a short trips, get into a book series or two (for me it was 50 shades ? At the time) and take your mind of it. make your self happy!
I wish you all the best!! Baby dust to you.
My partner and I stopped caring in December of 2013. Every woman in my family is as fertile as can be. My sisters husband winked at her on her wedding night and she fell pregnant!!!! Sheesh
I also took a while to fall pregnant. I have a super irregular cycle, can be anywhere from 31 to 57 days long and is all over the place. I had a lot of hormone and blood tests done by my GP, as well as a full reproductive ultrasound and they found nothing abnormal. Here is what worked for me:
1. Buy LH testers in bulk from ebay. Start testing after your menstrual period and write the date on the test, but don't throw them out. Keep them and each day compare them to the rest. You are looking for the darkest test line and then within 24 hours you should ovulate.
2. Learn to check your cervical mucous. It sounds grose, but gives you so much information about when you are fertile. If your mucous is clear, watery and stretchy like egg white, you're in your fertile period. Have sex daily whilst your mucous is egg white.
3. Have sex every second day until your mucous changes to egg white, then have sex daily. Once it changes again, go back to second daily.
4. Use pre-seed, it's a sperm friendly lubricant.
5. Get acupunture from an acupuncturist specialised in fertility. I swear this is what did it for me, I started going weekly after trying for ages and fell pregnant that cycle. Plus it's super relaxing and amazing what they can tell just by feeling your pulse.
6. Download an app like period tracker, where you are able to store all of this information as you track your cycle. It also has social chat groups for people trying to conceive and there are always lots of tips being given out.
7, Take pregnancy supplements, which you already are :) A friend also suggested zinc supplement and as I'm a pharmacist I did a bit of research and apparently a lot of the population are low in zinc. It is really important for female fertility to assist in egg health and implantation, but for men it helps strengthen sperm and a study showed that men's semen with higher levels of zinc were more likely to conceive. So my husband and I both took a zinc supplement for the month we fell pregnant and it may have helped also.
Good luck, I hope it happens for you soon. I know the pain and frustration when you realise one cycle is over and another is beginning.
