Hi sisters
Just wondering if anyone has done IVF through bulk billing IVF Clinics (In particular Primary IVF in Preston, Melbourne) ? I was only made aware of its existence the other day, but sadly fear that because it's 'free' it can't be good.
Thanks in advance

Hi I used Primary IVF in Brisbane and most of it is bulk billed. We had to pay $600 for egg retrieval & my partner had to have a sperm aspiration twice and that was $600 each. We also needed extra genetic testing which was blood tests and were out of pocket for that too as they couldn’t be bulk billed. You also have to pay for your injections and medication and there is a fee for the hormone blood test (about $80 from memory). We had an extremely low chance of ICSI even working and got pregnant on the first cycle of IVF with our only surviving embryo (which had only gotten to early blastocyst stage). Overall it wasn’t an extremely personal experience and they were always really busy but we thought we would give it a go and if we weren’t comfortable then we would have gone through a private clinic. If we went through a private clinic it would have cost us more than $20g however we were out of pocket maximum $2500 with Primary. My best advice would be to make an appointment and see how you feel after that. Best of luck :)
Literally had a baby 3 days ago... all thanks to Pirmary IVF Sydney & it only took 2 goes... got pregnant both times but unfortunately no fetal pole at 6 weeks first go...
