Just wanting to hear from anyone that has personally moved from Melbourne to Queensland (Gold Coast) and if the lifestyle is different. Do you regret the move or are you happy you did it and why. Thank you x

We moved from Melbourne (born & bred) 8 years ago to the Sunshine Coast and have never regretted it. Qld is awesome. We haven’t even been back to visit family as I refuse to deal with Victoria’s crappy weather and all the other crazy crap that is going on down there. Yes, the lifestyle is different but a good different. It’s very laid back. Everyone is so relaxed and friendly. We love it!
Depends where, Queensland is a massive state. Brisbane not much different to Melbourne, aside from more moderate weather, however, Cairns, lifestyle very different. You need to tell us where!
Sorry, Gold Coast
I’m moved Melb to cairns, so I can’t really help, hopefully there are some Gold Coast people who can. Good luck.
We went from Tassie to the Gold Coast, we HATED the GC and ended up settling in Brisbane for a few years before returning down south to Victoria (Mornington Peninsula).
The main things we disliked about where we lived on the GC (we lived for 12 months in Coolangatta, near the NSW border) was the crime and the lack of work available. We also never felt truly at home with that lifestyle - it's very casual and very touristy. That said, that's just one area of the GC, I have friends who live up the northern end and it's a lovely area. We did enjoy Brisbane a LOT more, we lived close to the CBD and it was fantastic (it's very similar to Melbourne).
About 17 years ago i moved from melb to sunshine coast. i loved it, but at that time i missed family and moved back after a year.... But after spending about 3 years back in melb my heart wanted back. I moved to the logan area, halfway between gold coast and brissy .. after living here 12 years now a bit closer to gold coast im still loving life. I have visited melb a few times but after being there mid jan and wearing winter clothes cos I froze, i decided qld is where im staying. Lmao
We moved from Melbourne ( born and raised ) to the Gold Coast 5 months ago . We have absolutely loved it ! We should have done it sooner . The weather is so much better than Melbourne and the lifestyle is much more relaxed ! We had no issues finding work and settling in . Our two children love it too ! Do some research on suburbs and find one that you love :) there’s plenty to choose from ! Good luck :D
