Hello ladies.
So I had been on the Depo (Jab) for the last 10 years, I never got one period in those 10 years. My doctor encouraged me to try a different contraceptive as he said it’s not good to be on the same one for a long period of time. I finally gave in and tried the implant (Rod in the arm). I had no period until a year after being on the implant and now it’s back, it’s light so I only need a liner, but just curious as to why now after 11 years of being on contraceptives it’s come back, we’ll being on the implant (1 year) I would just like to hear of other ladies experiences with getting a period on the implant after so long of not getting a period. and should I probably see my GP about this.
It has been so great not getting a period!!

Not getting a period for that long is really bad for your body and how it’s meant to work. Also depo should not be used for any longer than 2 years without having at least a 1 year break. It’s terrible for long term use and leads to a lot of horrible issues. You are aware they are fighting to have it black listed in Australia?.
Think of it this way, if you didn’t get the rod in, it could have taken you a year for your period to return after having the shots for so long.
The rod doesn’t guarantee you won’t get your period, so it could be your body returning to normal (whilst now covered by the rod)
