Husband being an active parent and husband

My husband must do alot, apparently(according to friends etc) I shouldn't need him to do things cause he works? And me wanting him to be involved in kids out of school activities or picking them up from school or doing Christmas shopping is wrong :( being at interviews that impact our kids futures is also a no no! My husband likes to be involved but people around us think I ask to much of him and rely heavily on his presence . Do you think I am putting to much pressure on my husband?

I think you should open your friendship circle! A father should be happy and willing to be involved in his kids lives

My partner comes home from work and helps around the house too! He's a perfect Dad and I couldn't ask for a better man to raise my kids with. A hands on Dad is a real Dad. You fiends are bloody jealous! You've obviously bagged a man they haven't so be proud that your kids have a real Dad :)

He sounds like a real dad, this is what they should be being. My hubby is an amazing father to our kids (5, 3, 1), he comes home after long days, spends time with them, baths them and even puts them to bed. I've also been told that he shouldn't be doing that because he works all day. But he wants to, he wants to spend time with his kids which I think is great. I know so many dads who just come home, jump on their phones, or even have a nap and their wives just think its normal behaviour. No its not, a dad should be just as committed to the children as the mum. Housework/washing is another story, I believe if I'm at home all day then that is really my domain, but the kids are both of our responsibility. We made them, WE should be looking after them.

Depends.. Do you work as well or just him? If he is the only one working and is expected to house work cooking ect then yes I think this is unfair. Personally I think it is a gift if you are financially able to be a stay at home mum because of your husbands income.. My husband works 55 hours a week and I work 25 hours a week. So I do all of the school runs, cleaning and cooking. However my husband always makes time to come to the kids school events, ect. As this is not a chore! And any one who says it is is probably just jelous.
