Behaviour - what do you expect

Just wondering how you expect a nearly 5 yr old to act, at home and in public?
I think I may expect more that is normal and so I wanted to know what others expect at this age

At home, I expected my 5 year old to run around and play, be noisy, jump on trampolines and jiggle around in a seat. However I also expected that plates and cups go in the sink, with reminding, towels get hung up with reminding, toys get packed away with some assistance at the end of the day. I expected there would be tantrums, tears and needing to be reminded of the rules and being polite at times. To do homework with supervision and help. Yes there was some whinging and resistance at times, totally normal.
Out and about, I expected to be able to sit in a cafe with some entertainment like colouring books, and jiggling around in his seat for the time it takes us to eat a quick meal. To be able to cross the street holding hands etc. I expect some bad behaviour because kids are learning.

Mate, it's a rather vague question - what is normal anyway? This is a question you need to ask a doctor/nurse/counsellor. But in the meantime, if they are responsive to your requests and directions and if you cuddle and tell them you love them a couple times a day - who cares. Everyone is different and that's what makes us all interesting.
