Hi lovely ladies and gents,
My family and I are visiting Sydney for a week shortly for our first ever family holiday....I can't tell you how excited I am!! (We aren't telling the kids until the morning we leave!!!)
What are the must do things in Sydney?
We are staying in an apartment right in the heart of the city so that we can save money and make some meals at home. Simple non staple using things like tacos, jar meal bases, fresh fruit and vege etc. Catching trains and ferries is going to be a huge novelty for our kids so they are going to be blown away by the rest!
We are planning on doing the majors like Taronga Zoo, Madam Tussauds, Powerhouse, Chinese Gardens, Paddy's markets, Aquarium, Manly, Bondi, Sydney Tower, Luna Park, observatory, a little harbour cruise and The Rocks and opera house etc. We are buying a five attraction pass for some of the above which is a huge saving.
Have I missed anything? Would you miss something above to do something else?
We have a day or two free on our itinerary so looking for little hidden gems or locals secret spots.
We have saved and saved for this trip for years and although we don't have a lot of money to spend, we don't want to miss anything we should have done as we won't be going back for a very long time. Our kids are 9, 7 and 4.
Thanks in advance!!

Don't go!!! I've lived there 4 times (for hubby's work) and absolutely hated it with a passion! I swore I would never live there again after the first time but of corse hubby was posted where I didn't want to go & I wouldn't be without him so followed. Sydney people are some of the rudest horrible arrogant ect people I've ever met! But I suppose just going on a little break there could be different. We liked the zoo, the ferries harbour & wet n wild. Good luck on your holiday hun, I hope you have a good time x
