low vit D at 5 weeks.

Low vitamin D, early pregnancy.
Ok so my vit D levels are 26, normal low is 50. So my Dr said to start taking 2000units of vit D. With calcium.

But he warned of higher chance of bleeding, which he then said because my blood type is negative ill need to go to the hospital or see my Dr as soon as possible (definitely same day)

I guess I'm just after reassurance that everything will be ok.

I'm also worried that i always thought my blood type was O- but I'm now told I'm B-
Mum checked my baby book she wrote down O- who's wrong my mother or a Dr report.

talk to your GP about your blood type. But back in the day assumptions sometimes were made about blood type based on parents etc.

I don't know about the vitamin d sorry but I do have a negative blood type (id say it's more likely your doctor is right about your blood type). I've had 2 pregnancies and the only issue it has caused is I've had to have anti d injections throughout the pregnancy and at birth.

The risk is that your babies blood type can be positive so if you have a bleed your body will recognise that and treat it as a foreign body - that's why you have to go to the hospital if you have a bleed. I never had any bleeding or problems though from having a negative blood type
