Anal surgery

Hi IMs.
I have been booked in for surgery in end of November for a rectal prolapse. (Anal wall falling into vaginal cavity- It means when I open my bowels, I need to use my fingers in my vaginal entrance to push the wall back to enable stool to pass).
Has anyone had the surgery and able to to tell me a few things?? Pain? Recovery? Sex afterwards? Problems? Healing? Etc etc?
I feel so embarrassed by having to have this surgery but I know that I need it for general hygiene to be able to have Norma bowel movements.
