Going from full time work to Stay at home mum

Due to a change in circumstances, I Am leaving my full time job and will be "Staying home" with my 3 year old. My child loves preschool much more than being at home but without my wage we will only be able to afford to send him one day per week. I'm after ideas on keeping him busy during the week and any ideas for him to get social interaction with other kids. I don't know where to start.. Any ideas from stay at home mums on how you keep your toddler entertained Or any activities you do etc would be fantastic! We won't have a lot of money to spare so most paid activities are off the cards. thank you :)

Check out pintrest for alot of inexpensive crafts and activities to do at home. Parks are great for social interaction, indoor play centres every once in a while. Go exploring beach, nature walks, museums etc. Start a hobby together such as gardening.

When I used to live in town, I now live on a farm we'd frequent parks and play grounds and befriended a few people that way. Aternatively talk to your child health centre and see if they have any mums groups with children around that age that you may want to join. Buy paints and paper and make play dough. Give them plenty of good books and have some kid CD's with nursery rhymes on them. They're my saviour. I take my kindy aged child for a drive on the days where she doesn't have kindy and she gets to do a crop inspection and see the sheep and kangaroos. The other day we even saw emus.
