Pregnancy and due dates

Hi there,
I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant with my first baby (so full term now) and just wanted to hear from any other Mum's out there who fell into labour before their 40 week due date?? I know that it's rare to fall early with a first baby but I just want some hope that not all of us are destined to go overdue, I'm just impatient in this heat and ready to have bubs out!

Just want to add that my second baby was so much more settled, fed more easily etc than my first who came quite early. Sometimes it is worth waiting a bit more!

Waiting at the end absolute sucks, it gets really hard. I say its best to plan for 42 weeks so it doesnt make you crazy.

I was 38 and 6 with my first, 36 with my second and 38 and 3 with my 3rd and exactly 39 with my 4th. Nothing goes to plan. I was early with my forst3 because I was sick pretty much the whole way through, the only reason number 4 came at 39 weeks was because he was a c-section baby. I was super healthy the whole way through. Nothing was going to make this boy budge.

I was about 5 days early with my first and only, good luck 😀 my labour was also pretty quick, even though he got stuck.

My first was 3.1 weeks early with no medical reason! My waters just broke early. If I look back I had signs but I didn’t recognize it the time. One was craving sugary foods for energy the day before, extra discharge the day before also. Good luck

2 days over due first Bub.
2 days before due date second Bub.

And for my third, I am literally going to tell myself the due date is two weeks after what growth scans tell me so My expectations are behind and I don’t die waiting around.

I feel you.

39 + 1 for first and 39 + 4 for the second. I drank heaps of raspberry leaf tea, took the homeopathic tonics and ate chilli to induce baby. Also apparently semen is good to bring on labour. All it did for me however was give me contractions with no dilation ☹️. Those last weeks take ages...just try to make the most of it by sleeping as much as possible. A good sleep is rare after having baby.

Unfortunately hun, babies just come when they come lol!
All 3 of my kids were 42 weekers, 2 of whom I was full term with in the middle of January 😰 so I get your pain on so many levels.
Your due date is not an exact science, it's more of an estimate. Hence why some women go early, some poor souls like me go 2 weeks over haha. It really depends on the woman and the pregnancy it's self.

Good luck!

37 weeks isn't full term.
I can't stand people that say "I want this baby out already". You should never wish for an early baby.
It's only a few more weeks. You really just have to suck it up and keep cool. The longer they stay in the better.
I had a 40+3 and a 41+4. Both were 38°-45°C the last few weeks.

I was thinking the same thing to be honest. As much as I hated going 2 weeks over with every pregnancy I had, I was so glad they all came out big and healthy.

My first was induced at 39 weeks 2 days. My doctor had said from the very first appointment that I would need to be induced early because of my small size. At 39 weeks my cervix was showing signs of dilation so I was booked on 2 days later. After delivery and the baby had been weighed and measured the doctor said if he’d known how big the head was going to be he would have booked me in for a caesarean. My second my waters broke spontaneously at 38 weeks 2 days but then needed drugs to get the contractions going. Every baby and delivery is different. Try to relax while you can.
