I have just found out that I’m pregnant with my fourth child. It’s a total surprise - eldest child is 9 and youngest 6. I’m freaking out because I will be 41 when the baby is born. I have not been taking any pregnancy supplements such as folate. I just want to know how other mums went with being older and baby being healthy? I have a DR’S appt next week. My first thought was to abort but now I’m pretty sure we’re going to embrace and go through with the pregnancy. Please tell me some happy outcomes.

I’m a happy outcome. Mum had me at 41, I was a surprise pregnancy. I have no problems whatsoever!
I had my third at 42. It was the biggest surprise as my older two were 6 and 7 at the time. I have to say my son is a true little blessing. I worried all the way through my pregnancy that he may be born with some medical issues but he was thankfully born healthy. He makes our family complete and is an amazing little guy.
