I am currently 7 weeks pregnant, 40 years old and we were on our third round of Clomid (50g) to assisted us to ovulate and fall pregnant. At around 5 weeks when I went to the toilet and wiped, I had bright red blood. I called my OB straight away, she ran through a list of things / activities I could have put my body through that day to have caused this. We had sex that morning, and she said that most likely was it with my age and also the cervix most likely is soft. I went in for a check-up and all has been well since. I am now on progesterone treatment to boost my levels and weekly check-ups. Although I only had the red blood that one time, since then it has been brown, she says brown is good. So, occasionally through the day when I wipe after the toilet, the tissue may have a tea like light brown stain. My OB has been fantastic and has assured me that this can be quiet normal. I’m just wondering if anyone else has been through this, and did it eventually stop? It has been a scary few weeks and I can’t help but worry and then be relieved at my check ups that all is okay and everything is normal. Just looking to see if others have been through this, and if so, your experiences, and how long the bleeding occurred etc, did it stop? Please only positive, I know there is always a risk of miscarriage, but I want to stay positive as much as I can so please only happy ending experiences. Thank you for your understanding.

I started bleeding at 5 weeks and it lasted until 10 weeks. It was on and off. I went on to have a normal healthy pregnancy.
I bled at 9 weeks after going for a swim in the pool and having sex. It was a pinkish colour and turned brown - I sometimes got slight tinges of brown throughout the pregnancy and it’s just old blood in the uterus. I also bled at 30-33 weeks and all was fine!! Don’t stress yourself too much
I bled a few times during my second pregnancy.
He's now a terrible two year old.
Fingers crossed for you.
I had a slight period each month (varying from bright red to brown) throughout my second pregnancy at the age of 39. I never found out the reason why it happened and gave birth to healthy full term baby. It is natural to be worried and nervous when things aren't "normal". Take each day as it comes and don't stress too much
