Dear Sisters
We are a small family of four. 2 adults 2 children between 2 and 8. Money can be tight but shouldn't be an excuse. Camping became difficult after our second due to health needs we need electricity, and protection from the elements.
How do you make holidays work?
We recently went on our first holiday, and luckily we stayed with family. It was an amazing time and it made me realise qe need to get out more.
So instead of wasting money on unwanted gifts i thought for Christmas we would give the gift of time and a small holiday.
But omg accomadation is a killer , if you dont have family where you want to go.
What are your tips for holidays with the entire family?
And favourite cost effective locations, fun for the whole family?
We where thinking a trip to Brisbane, Halls Gap and Warrnabool , Adeliade. Not all at once but over time.
We live about 4 hours from Melbourne. Rural Victoria.

Caravan or motorhome hire so you can stay at caravan parks in a powered site?
Onsite cabins at the caravan parks maybe? They’d have electricity and are usually really cheap.
Or motel rooms above a pub are always super cheap!
Try and organise it for when it's not school holidays...it's sooooooooo much cheaper!
Look at cabins in caravan parks. The great location and feel but with the luxuries. Keep an eye out for sales, follow the theme park hotels and other destinations youre interested in on social media for their deals.
We have camper trailers and stay in caravan parks on powered sites but I have just booked a holiday for our family of 5 in qld for April next year and I’m slowly paying it off. Flights were $500 and I used afterpay
Car hire is $500 and I’m paying it off at $50 a week, and a 3 bedroom apartment cost me $1200 which I will pay when hubby and I get our tax back. This is for 8 days 😊
