Moving to Perth

There is a high possibility that my husband will be transferred to Perth at the start of next year for two years. I have never been to Perth myself, however have heard great things about it. I am excited and willing to move but have no idea about what suburbs are great to live in for a family (3 children, 7, 4 and 1) and what schools and Kindy's people would recommend for my two older children. Also looking for affordability in rental properties (max $550, happy to live in a town house), we will rent out our property in Brisbane, but know that the rent will not cover our mortgage. Since I will not work for sometime (I am currently working part time, but am wanting to focus on the kids settling into school and know it may take a little time to find part time work in my field in a new place!) we are looking to reduce costs if we can by living in an area where rent is not too high, but still a great place for a family?
