I just turned 38 and was then informed I was going to be a **** cringes**** Grandmother!! Now the initial shock has subsided I need to come up with a young Nanna name as thetr is no chance I’m being called Granny or anything traditional. My first name starts with K so I thought I could find something to go with that but I’d live to hear what non traditional names some ladies are being called or any suggestions please xxx

I know a few people who use GiGi/GG short for grandmother.
I quite like that for a young nanna. I think it's funky!
I personally dont care how young i am when my kids bless me with grandkids. I'm gonna wear the title of NANNA like a badge of honour lol!
My kid and nieces and nephews just call my parents by there first name.
My mum is Yia Yia and because we are not Greek we have nothing to associate it with (in terms of it feeling an old term)
It’s cute and so she doesn’t feel old like if she were granny or nanna.
Oma is another reference to grandma (German) and it’s really sweet too.
It’s also the term us Dutchies use 😊
Doesn't matter what you choose the kid will call you what they want. Trust me my mum wanted to be grandmama but she got plain grandma lol
Don't forget all of your grandkids in the future will call you the same thing so whatever you pick now will stick. My MIL was only 37 when I had my first, she hated grandma but was happy with nanna. 20 years later and 11 grandkids later she is still nanna. If the other grandmother is also nanna then you can say Nanna K/Nanna Kate/Nanna Smith.
I like Meemaw, you can call them Moonpie (lets hope they’re as smart as Sheldon)
My mother was the same... her name is Janelle, so the kids call her Nell.
What about K K or Kiki?
My mum is Ninny to my kids. And I absolutely love it. I think it means crazy (?) But if so, that suits her also hahaha
My 5 year old has been calling her Nin-dogga lately hahahaha and she gets Nin occasionally.

My mum had me when she was 17 and when I started getting dating at 19 and got with my son’s father she said do don’t make me a grandmother before I’m 40 and what do I do make her a grandmother at 39 I have my son when I was 21 almost 22 and she called herself nan don’t be ashamed of it just think of yourself at a hot nan or a yummy nanny
I know someone who goes by Ooma which is actually a shop in town with the name object of my affection or Ooma for short

My mum said she felt to young at 49 to be called grandma so was and still is called Nan/nanny
