Hi, I've just secured a job after being a stay at some mum for over 15 years. My partner works full time and I receive ftb part a and b. I haven't started work yet and it's casual to begin with. I'm just after an idea of the process of notifying centrelink. Is it a matter of weekly wage reporting or something? Can it be done online? I will be calling to let them know and find out the exact process but just wanted to get an idea. Thanks :)

Centrelink pays in fortnightly so you need to report fortnightly. Yes it can be done online. It’s usually pretty easy. If you can survive without ftb you might find it easier to get a lump sum at tax time.
If it’s only ftb a and b you should just have to update your annual income estimate which can be done online. Ftb doesn’t require fortnightly reporting like other payments such as parenting partnered and jobseeker
Update your yearly income estimate and you will also have to report fortnightly. If you have kids in care you will have to also update your activity hours for the child care rebate. Its easy online reporting. Just have to remember to do it. Report before tax amounts . Its all connected to ATO instantly now so if you dont report the correct amount they will be on you straight away.
