Late period

Late period

Anyone been more than 7 days late for a period and not been pregnant? I’ve taken a home test and it’s negative. I don’t understand why my period is so late.

Periods can be late for lots of reasons.
Stress, weightloss, weightgain, underlying hormonal issue (which can be temporary or ageing related), illness.
I’d give it another week or two and make an appointment with your GP to rule out anything treatable.

I’m pretty sure mine was late once because I really wanted it to come 😭

Yes but stress, illness and my hormones were all over the shop.

See your GP, they will run some tests and go over your history.

I haven’t been stressed, ill or suffering with hormones and not menopausal

If you haven't been having sex, I would be inclined to say it's hormones.

Still check this out with a Dr. Whatever is going on, it should be discussed with a professional.

Definitely been having sex

You can’t always tell if it’s hormonal because you don’t always have other symptoms.

Medication can also effect your period

Add these into your post OP, or the same statements will come up when it runs on the page .

I just had a 96 day cycle when I'm normally 28-30 days on the dot. No idea why (I'm 42 and last we checked I'm not pre or peri menopausal) and was just about to check in with my GP when it arrived 🤷‍♀️

If there's a chance you could be pregnant, it's possible to get a negative test and it be incorrect. And there's plenty of other (sinister or benign) reasons you might be late.

How old are you? Have you been trying to get pregnant? Definitely go check in with a medical professional if you're concerned. It might just be a blip, or it could be something else and best to know either way

Yep. I'll randomly be late or even skip a cycle due to various reasons like stress, diet, medications, going on or getting off birth control, illness or just an unknown reason. As long as it's not happening regularly I wouldn't be too worried.

You don’t mention your age but if you’re over 35 it could be peri menopausal symptoms? Stress, diet, too much exercise etc
