Groups/activities around Atherton

Hi I was just wondering if there are any groups/activities around Atherton that I could take my daughter to as we have just moved to town

Try the Atherton Gym its located in the Showgrounds & has a great set up :) The lady in charge is Dianne.

I don't have kids so I don't know if these suggestions will help you; but I moved here in June and found it very isolating especially as my partner works away most of the time. The Bootcamp in Yungaburra (5:30pm Tue & Wed, at the Rec Shed $10pp) is full of really, really friendly people and some of the ladies bring their older kids along where they either join in with some of the exercises or just play outside for the hour. I'm not sure how old your daughter is but the kids who come along are primary school age-ish.

Also Tableland Roller Derby are always looking for people, they've been a great outlet for me. And no you don't have to be able to skate, haha. Me & my two left feet are still learning but there's heaps you can do to get involved even if you can't skate or aren't ready to compete yet. Some of the other girls in the team have kids so even though it's not an inclusive thing you & your daughter can do it's a great way to meet people.

Otherwise I know one of the Derby girls said something about there being a good storytime set up at the Yungaburra library?

Hi! We are currently taking a break but we do monthly mum-friendly stamping (cardmaking/craft) get togethers in Atherton/Yungaburra/Mareeba. Depends what you and DD might like to do... eg I know there is a music group on Thursday mornings etc. Welcome to the neighbourhood, I have lived up here most of my life so if you want any info or catch up for coffee yell out :)
