I personally would love enter but can’t – OBVIOUSLY ha ha.. The photo below is my bestie and I, she lives on the Gold Coast and I never get to see her.
“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.” – Henri Noumen
“A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”
GOOD LUCK!!

I would take my friend of 15 years, Kimberlee. When we first moved out of home together, it was with each other. We haven't seen each other since Kim's wedding 5 years ago, as she lives in Cairns and I on a cattle station in central Qld. In that time, we've both gotten married, had kids and experienced all that life has thrown at us, good and bad. I would love to see her to spend some qualtiy time, relaxing, catching up, and being imperfect mummies together xo
I would bring my friend Melinda, she is a mother of 4 young kids who works her butt off to give them an amazing life. Despite being busy and tired she is always willing to drop everything to help a friend. She deserves to be pampered.
I would take my beautiful sister in law, Natalie McLennan. She has 2 young kiddies and a mother battling cancer so she deserves some time to herself, with me ofcourse, to relax and take stick of everything happening around her. We have been a part of each others lives for over ten years now and we share dinners, parties, birthdays and Christmas together woth our families but we have so much to catch up on that only a weekend a way will do. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I can win this for her (and me!)
I would take my best friend. We have been friends for 30 years. Our mothers were best friends and as they were single mothers, shared a home for many years. Kelly is my sister. Now years down the track we have been together through the good times and the bad. Now between our own children and stepchildren we have a combined total of 8 children so although we live in the same town, our time together is always child related. It would be wonderful to spend time together for just us.
2 bed! Could I sneak a friend and a sister :-) the friend is choose is a fairly new friendship, I feel we get along really well and both deserve a weekend away :-) we run a weekend business an my friend has recently had a bib and an unemployed partner, but all is finally starting to settle down for them and now all our kids are healthy we can start catching up again! If we won thought I'd probably shout my sister who is a single mum to come with us, she just broke her foot! We do everything together! And my hubby has volunteered to look after her two kids as well as ours. :-) love him!
I would take my bestie kirsty...known her for more than half my life and I missed out on her hens night and being a brides maid as I had just had my 3 rd bub...would love to make that up to her
I would bring my Mum.
My Hubby and I have 6 kids but I gave birth to our 5th child at 5 months gestation. He had died the day before so he was born "sleeping".
I blocked it out by returning to fulltime work 2 days after his birth. My Hubby fell apart emotionally. It was an extremely difficult time for us all. Our kids were 10, 5, 3 and 6 months old (I got pregnant when my 6 month old was only 8 weeks old). My Mum jumped in with both feet and held us all together. Answering difficult questions from my (then) 5 year old like: "Why did my baby brother have to die?" and "Did the doctor throw him in the bin? Is that why Mum didn't bring him home?"
My sister was pregnant at the same time, just 8 weeks in front of me, and I couldn't deal with that. I was an emotional wreck. But again my Mum guided me through it as only a Mum can.
She is very much loved by all 3 of her children and all 13 of her grandchildren. She deserves this trip with or without me x.
Touching story, your mum sounds like a wonderful lady who has supported her family and really helped you through a tough time, good luck !
I would take my beautiful caring bestie Kristy. We've spent a lot of time apart over the years due to Kristys husbands postings but I know she has and will move heaven and earth to be there for me if I need it. We're both loving mums and caring wives and would appreciate a girly weekend!
I'd LOVE to get away with Katie Davey... She is AWESOME!! and is the only one in our circle of friends to understand what it's like to juggle work, kids and a social life!! I'd love to reminisce with her the good old times when we could relax, watch what WE wanted to on the TV and leave the bathroom door open to pee, without the kids being under our feet!!! I love this girl to bits... I'd love to spend a weekend just her and I.... and SILENCE!!
I would bring my friend Belinda.
From prenatal class our friendship grew.
Originally no children, now we each have two.
We call each other, or just drop in
Our friendship so close I would count her kin.
She has supported me through ups and downs
And I in turn have shared her smiles and frowns.
She is an amazing person through and through
And for her friendship I'm lucky, it's true.
I'm sure we'll be friends for years to come,
A great story to tell would be of a prize well won ;)
I would love to be able to take my ex-stepmum/bestie Emma Stephens on this trip. She has been in my life since I was 7 years old, and now we have the best relationship I could hope for. She is a strong, wonderful person, a fantastic mother to 3, stepmother to 2(well 4 all up) and step granny to my darling daughter. She is the one person who has always looked out for my best interests, even when I didn't want the help. She is the one who always cared enough to "butt in" :P And I know even if I don't win this she will still be there to drink wine with me and imagine what could have been :)
My girlfriend Tina is who I'd bring because she has raised her two sons completely on her own after the father left the scene early in the second pregnancy. She has spent every last dollar giving her kids the best life possible; including specialist appointments for her son with autism while training to become a registered nurse. She deserves some pampering for once. She is my inspirarion.
My Mum told me when I was young that you will always have people come and go in your life. She told me that you will be able to count your true good friends on one hand. I met my best friend Jayne in a hair salon :) I was the hairdresser and she was the client. I liked her instantly and looked forward to her 5 weekly visits. Our friendship grew, she became a true friend and even was one of my bridesmaids. We dont see each other often but when we do we both pick up where we left off. We both get each other and constantly laugh when we are together. Jayne is deffinatly one of the good life long friends, I count on one hand. (and we both love port douglas) lol
I would love this and to take my best friend Bianca... She is my world and I don't know what I would do without her... We have never been away together... I am a single mum of 3 and she has 2 wonderful kids and a loving partner... This weekend would mean so much for us... I have not been away by myself in over 10years... This weekend would be the break we both need together...
I would LOVE to bring my bestie Larissa! We are both crazy busy mummies to two kids each, wives to amazing men and we both are also studying as well as running our households! We would just LOVE the break! We NEED the break! As we are both students, a trip like this is def not an option financially for us! We are both left at home alone with our precious children 90% of the week and often talk to each other about the loneliness and demands that comes with raising our children at times! PLEASE consider us for this wonderful opportunity to have some "us" time! We would be forever gratefull!! Thank you xx
If I were to win I would take my friend Tasheena Snow along with me. She is a beautiful overworked mummy who could use a break. She has stood by my through relationship problems and severe depression. She has proved to be someone I can always rely on.
I would take my girlfriend Kirstie. We have been friends for 16 years and I was her bridesmaid when she got married. We have been through alot together and can count on each other for anything. We have been through the loss of a wonderful friend that hit us both hard and are now trying to get through the loss of her husband. She has 2 beautiful girls that she now has to raise on her own. We see each other a few times a week and our daughters are only 9 months apart and the best of friends. I hope our children share the same amazing friendship together just like their mummy's have. She is such a strong kind person and I wish I could do more for her. We will be friends for life.
Mine would be my sister and best friend she knows me better than anyone and she has helped me through so much in our lives, she stood up to the bullies, she made sure no one hurt her little sister she has always been there for me amd id be lost without her we have never been on a holiday just the two of us and I couldnt imagine anything better ... im due to have her second nephew in 10 weeks and she is the best Aunty/god mother I could ask for!
I would bring my best friend Nicole. We've been friends since birth, as neighbours and school friends. I am 2 months older than her, her oldest son is 2 months older than my son and her youngest son is 1 month older than my daughter. Our younger sisters were best friends too and we all used to hang out together. We've even been with our husbands for the same amount of time as each other! We have so many cherished memories from our childhood together! We've been solid, true blue supports in each other's lives especially on our journey through motherhood. She is the first person I go to for advice and to vent. Nicole lives in Brisbane and I live in Cairns, but when we do see each other (maybe once or twice a year), it's like no time has passed. She is so special to me and always will be :)
I would take my best friend Shaan, who has stood by me through every up & down in my life since we were kids. She is the one person who knows everything about me & can tell my mood from the tone of a simple "hey".. she picks me up in my darkest moments & celebrates with me through the good times. she is a fabulous mummy & works 2 jobs, cares for her injured husband & still finds time for me.. she is the strongest, most loyal & kind hearted person i know! she deserves a getaway & a little pampering, & i would love her to know just how beautiful she is & how grateful i am to have her travel life's journey with me.. :)
I meet my beautiful friend Alicia just over a year ago room at the time had not long broken up from her ex because of his inconsistency to stay faithful. She was I'm a bad way and I became her friend. Now we are the best of friends.. I love her and admire how fat she has come with her 2 beautiful boys.. A weekend away would be just what we need to celebrate our 1 st anniversary of friendship!
I would take my beautiful friend Melanie. Ever since becoming a mum just over 4 years ago and now having just had my second, I was beginning to feel like I'd 'lost myself' and that i was just a mum and nothing else. Mel brings out the old me and makes me feel fun again. She's my shoulder to cry on, lends her ears when I need to vent and best of all makes me laugh til my sides are hurting!
I would take my good friend Tymeka as she has been there for me and has helped through pnd and it would be so good to go away and have a girls get away with no kids or husbands...
I would take my beautiful bestie Kelly! We have been best friends since grade 3, 20+yrs! She is my rock an I don't know where I would be without her. Through think an thin she has always been there to push, guide an support me. There is absolutely nothing that we don't share or do together an no matter how busy our lives get we always seem to come back together an pick up where we left off as if we had no time apart! Not only am I proud to call her my best friend but to me she is truly family!
I would take my best friend Donna. We have battled post natal depression together and have helped eachother through the toughest times of our lives even though we live states apart. I would do anything for her and her family. Thwy are my family.
I would have to take my BFF Narelle. We've been besties since 1989 and have seen each other through the highest highs and lowest lows (and then some!) She's always there for me, no questions asked and I know we would have a blast together and can trust each other to keep what happens in Port Douglas, in Port Douglas!
Life has not always been easy for me and the one person who has always stood by me is my MUM, after losing my first daughter (a stillborn due to heart complications coupled with Down syndrome ) I struggled to come back being only 24 years old its not something you expect to happen to you. Through all my anger and tears my mum was the one person who stood by me and I would love to repay her and show her how much I appreciate her, especially as she just celebrated her 50th birthday and life hasn't always been smooth for her either, but she has always dropped everything and put us kids first xxxx
I would bring my best friend Laura. She is a truly amazing woman and doesn't even know it. I have two kids and although she has none, she has two puppies that are her babies. They keep her up all night and she takes them for toilet breaks in the middle of the night (crazy, I know). I met Laura when I went back to high school after having my first son as a teenager. She was always pretty quiet but always stood up for me when people judged me. She helped me get through the final two years of school and without her by my side I would have been lost. After school she went on to work with children with disabilities where she still frequently takes them on camps with little to no sleep each night. She's supported me through toilet training a toddler, helping me with my assignments, heart ache, boyfriends, girl fights and she was my bridesmaid at my wedding this year. She truly deserves this weekend away from her puppies, her job and definitely deserves a bit of a pamper session!
I would bring my dear friend Emily. I don't have a particular moment I need to share from our friendship. Only that she has always been there to listen, give support and bounce ideas off. She really is everything anyone should want in a friend. And for that I'm truly blessed to have her in my life. :)
I would like to take my best friend Emma. We have been friends since we started highschool in 1995. She's always been there for the ups and downs that life brings. I left school early and lost direction but she was always there to support me including through my uni degree, my marriage, the birth of my daughter and all my little Mum questions over the last 2 years! Emma lost her Mum 6 years ago to illness. Her Mum, Ruth, was always there for me and was like a second Mum to me and I miss her dearly. Emma moved interstate and married the man of her dreams and has 2 beautiful boys and I miss her a lot and the distance has made it difficult to see each other regularly. I would love this chance to spend time with my amazing best friend, just us.
Not knowing anyone, I walked gingerly into my first playgroup in my new town, to be met by a bubbly lady named Cate. We instantly clicked as we were both the mother of ‘that” child, and bonded over coffee dates watching our 2 year olds perform WW3, while other children played gently and quietly in the corner. Cate is the organiser, and is always around to tell us where we should be, and what we should be doing… the mother hen of the friends group, she is always looking out for us. When my daycare threatened to shut, she was the one ringing me telling me not to worry, and she would look after my daughter until it was sorted. When Cate relocated 1000km away, she still kept this up, and was the friend who was knocking on the hotel door the morning after my wedding with coffee, breakfast, and painkillers. With a FIFO husband
and 2 young kids, Cate spends so much time looking after others; it’s about
time someone looked after her for a change. This is why I am nominating the
fabulous Cate for a weekend of pampering, if any deserves it, she does.
I would love to bring my best girl friend, Bev. Although 30 years my senior, Bev is the Mum of my heart that I have so needed for the past 6 years. She is ALWAYS there for my family and I, when our own blood related families are often not there for us. Nothing is ever too much to ask, even when she is battling her own health issues, having had Pneumonia three times in the last two years! Bev so very much deserves a proper holiday like this ne and I would love to share it with her. Thank you so much for the chance to win!
I would like to take my sister, I would like to be able to properly thank her for everything she has done for me throughout my life, for her incredible generosity, for always putting others first and for helping me through every tough situation, big and small, and for being an amazing Aunty to my son and at times, like a second Mum to him. She's a best friend first and sister second. We share everything together so a girls weekend wouldn't be worth it without her there too. She deserves some time away from her busy schedule of wonderful Mum, wife, daughter, sister and work and I would love to be the one to be able to give it to her.
if I was lucky enough to win, I would take my twin sister leisa. growing up we had a normal sibling rivalry. over the years our bond has gotten stronger as she has helped me through some really tough times and even now with her own misfortunes she remains my rock. a holiday would do the world of good for us both.
If I am lucky enough to win this amazing prize, I would take along my friend Jane. Almost 2 months ago, I responded to a post that Jane had sent to The Imperfect Mum, looking to find friends in Townsville. Jane sent me a pm, and our friendship grew from there. We became fast friends, almost overnight, and I now consider Jane to be a significant part of my life. We both have daughters who are only 2 months apart and like us, have become the best of friends in just a couple of months. We love watching them play together and also love that in years to come, we can tell them they have been friends since the age of 2! A girls weekend with Jane would be fantastic. I owe the ladies behind The Imperfect Mum for this wonderful page that has brought such a fantastic friend into my life...even if I don't win this prize, I have already gained some thing special. I will cross my fingers and toes that I win!
I would take my best friend Rebecca Drocourt. We have known each other for fifteen years and we've supported each other through the good and tough times in our marriages, the joys and challenges of our children and the heartbreak of our losses. We've both had a rough couple of years and seeing a movie once every six months has been our only affordable escape. A weekend away where we get pampered and could forget our troubles, just for a little while, would be an absolute dream!
What would we do without our girlfriends? To have women in our life that know us, trust us, love us and don't judge us is indescribable. I honestly don't know who I would bring. I'm fortunate enough to have 4 amazing women in my life that I will love and know to the day I die. They are all like sisters to me and the icing on the cake is that one of them is actually my sister. I'm aware that not all siblings get along so to have a sister who is a best friend is amazing. We have all had good and bad times through our lives and these women have always been there for me and I like to think, I for them. Friendship is the greatest gift of all.
After losing my home and everything black Saturday , I quickly learnt what you need to value most. Family. I would take Marnie Wadsworth or Mim Blake. They have supported me through my loss of home , marriage and when my son was sexually assaulted stood by me while be battled his suicide attempts. Marnie and Mim are my rocks and I would not have survived without their support and friendship . They never waiver just let me ask for help ad I need it and keep an eye on me and when I'm not coping step in to get me going. My son is will survive this bullying and assault but we would not have survived without them. I could never afford to go away and this would be a god send to say thank you to a very special soul sister . Thank you for letting me enter
I would bring my cousin Dani. Growing up I moved a lot & struggled to make friends. She WAS my best friend. She was my constant. Now as adults, she has 4 beautiful children & I have 2. We don't get to catch up a lot anymore, but when we do, it's like we were never apart. She is precious & beautiful & deserves this as much as I do. She's absolutely amazing. I'd love nothing more than to share this with her. Just another memory to make :-)
I would bring my bestie Shelley. She had such a tough time with her now toddler when he was a baby and never complained. She is so unselfish and the most amazing mother. She is always there for me and makes me laugh! We love to hassle each other! She is now pregnant with her second and has been quite sick. She needs a babymoon with her bestie not her husband!! I'll drink all the wine!
I would most definitely bring my dear friend sharon kingston. She and I have been a great support to one another since we became pregnant with our first child three years. Coincidently our partners worked together and knew each other before we did. I met her at the doctors when we all ran into each other after just having our first blood test done and buying folic acid! We confessed that to each other later as our friendship grew and laugh about it to this day. We are very in sync and joke about planning having our kids at the same time! Our friendship grew stronger during our antenatal classes that we signed up for but didnt know each other would attend! Our children were born less than a week apart and are very sweet friends to this day. We often text saying where were going n the other is usually there or going there anyway! Recently we started back at work at the same time and week, unbeknownst to one another! So yes, i enjoy my friendship and synchronisation with Sharon and cherish it more than she knows i dare say! Such a great friend and wonderful company! A little weekend away would most definitely be deserved and appreciated by us! Especially since were now both back at work and sending our precious children into daycare...a bottle of wine would help with guilt! ;0) thanks for the chance im xo
I had my first daughter at 16, at 18 I decided to finish grade 12, but at the start of that year my daughters dad and I separated, i had no family living close by So I went to the women's center and they gave me a one bedroom unit, as i was living in emergency housing I wasn't allowed to have any friends come over and no one was allowed to know where I lived, I'd been there for about 6 months when a girl I had briefly met got my number and called me saying that she had gotten me a place to rent beside her duplex, as she knew that I desperately needed to find my feet again. I moved in beside her and she would often bring dinner over for me and my daughter knowing that I'd been at school all day, she was 17 at the time and she not only became my bestest friend in the entire world, she also looked after me and helped me get through year 12, she was younger than me but she was like my mum, she got me out of a controlling relationship by introducing me to my now fiancé, who I have been with for 6 years now and have 2 more girls with, she now also has 3 children to her fiance whom she's been with since she was 14 and he was 13, over the last 5 years she nearly lost all 3 of her children at birth, she was knocked out and given an emergency cesarean with her first after complications during labour, her second was 8 weeks premature after her son stopped growing, then 12 weeks ago at 36 weeks, she was knocked out for another emergency cesarean with her 3rd after she ruptured, she's now been told at 24 not to have any more children, she is the strongest, amazing friend I have and I don't see her nearly as much as I should! I finished school while raising a 2 year old because of her, I am who I am today because of her.. My best friend is Kylie and I want to take her on this weekend away because I want to give back to her every bit of thanks I can for everything she's done for me over the last 7 years, she has no idea how important she is in my life and I love her to bits! 200 words is just not enough to describe how amazing she truly is
I would take my friend Crystal. For two years I struggled to meet new people and make friends when I moved up to Townsville. As a last resort after another failed activity to meet mums, I sent a message to imperfect mum about how hard I was finding it to meet people. Crystal responded to that message and now not only have I made a lifelong friend in her but our 2 year old daughters are also the best of friends. A weekend away to not only thank Crystal for her amazing friendship but to thank you in person for helping change my life would be just wonderful!
I would take my mum! For the last eight months I have been off work after suffering major complications following elective surgery. Mum took the first three months off her work to sit with me in hospital and then after seven weeks looked after me at home. She's cried with me, laughed with me and has been the one to bear the brunt of my frustrations (and tantrums). I have been to hell and back, and took her along for the ride with me. I don't know how I'm ever going to be able to repay her for all she has done for me.
I would bring my mum (grandma) she raised me since I was a baby while running a family buisness. She gave me support through all the family dramas growing up. We all most lost her this year due to her health. She always puts others before her self I would love to give her a treat for giving up 18 years of her life to raise me in stead of me having to find adoptive parents. She is a sick women who might have not many years or months left. I would of all ready gave her a holiday but I'm on single pension struggling to make hens meat. This is why I choose my mum well my grandmother
I find this very hard as i have some very speci friends and is hard to choose, but i would choose my beautiful friend hayley, she has been through so much and i can honestly say i felt alot of her pain, would be good for me and her to get this as were both mumas of twin boys and a little girl each aswell, we never have the money nore the time to be able to do something fun together, she is a beautiful lady inside and out, that would do anything to help others i would love to win this to give her a break and for us to have a fun time and be able to relax an destress, thank you <3
I would bring Carolyn. She is an always supporting, open ear and never judgemental soul. Nearly 5 years ago we met at our first Mother's Group. She tells me now that the first time we met she said to herself I am going to like this girl. And now she is my best friend. I don't think I would of survived the last year without her by my side. She has been with me and my family through many tough times in the last year, as we found out our 18month old had Cancer and had to undergo many surgeries to save her. She is really one of the only people that can make me laugh and cry, and sometimes those two happen at the same time.
I would take Lana. She was one of my bridesmaids and god mother to my twins. Due to just life and all the small things we don't get the chance to catch up as often as we'd like.
We have that kind of special friendship that we just pick up like we saw each other yesterday and not months ago.
And we both have our 30th birthdays later this year.
I would take Edith who is a carer for my disabled adult daughter. She has been like a sister to me an another mother to my daughter. Has gone beyond & above her roles in caring for both of us on many occasions . She deserves this holiday far more than i do . She is almost at retirement age so eventually i will have to find some other kind & generous lady to take up her position in time. I do not get many holidays as respite for my daughter would cost around $300 or $400 for a 24 hour period, so just cheaper to stay at home. My respite is doing Yoga a few times a week plus doing voluntery work out in the community. This holiday would be an adventure for both of us to relax & unwind , i would even consider paying to bring my daughter along too.
