I wrote a response but it's disappeared so hopefully this doesn't appear twice.

I found once my mental health started to get under control my over eating settled down. My psychologist helped a lot with identifying emotional triggers to eating and learning to eat mindfully. Plus learning new coping skills for my emotions rather than eating my emotions.

It was not a quick fix, it wasn't going on a diet or 12 week challenge. I definitely had a psychological problem that I was medicating with food so it was a gradual process.

Get your mental health sorted, Start exercising, just a walk to start with it will help with your mental state of mind as well as your weight. Don't keep junk food in the house if it's not there you can't eat it, but don't deny yourself either or you will just binge. I chew extra when I crave the junk food it helps ease the cravings. Good luck

You could try a ketogenic diet. For me, it was like flicking a switch... it turned off my cravings and I began to see food only as fuel rather than a reward or comfort. This happened fairly quickly for me, and weight loss followed. It can help with issues like anxiety too (but I agree with others saying see a doctor for medical advice if you haven't already). There is particular group on FB simply named "Ketogenic Dieters" All the best!
