Contraception

So I'm booked in to get the implanon on Friday but really nervous that I'm going to be one of those unlucky ones that get lovely side affects..why can't it be something useful like you can see through walls so you know the exact moment your four year old has decided to become pacosa on your lounge suit or mind reading so you can stop your helpful husband giving your four year old RED CORDIAL in a cup, then letting him take it into the lounge room where the cream carpets are (used to be cream) and putting it on the floor where said four year old is sitting then knocks it over ??

So the reason I want to try it is I've got the memory of a gold fish and could never remember to take my stupid little pill so my DR has suggested to try the implanon instead.

But the awesome thing is my body has decided to grow extra little things on my ovaries (even tho I was told the pill would help with this after already having surgery once) to which said stupid little pill has done nothing for me except make "SHARK WEEK" even worse! My body is more regular off the pill BUT we do not want anymore little gremlins (adorable babies) and my partner is still deciding if he wants his precious gems "fondled" with (and yes it was his idea to get the snip NOT mine) but until then I'd like to try something else...

I've herd wonderful stories already about random bleeding when your out in public so bad so that its almost as heavy as when you've just had a baby and now stuck in the toilet crying because you now need new clothes... ?? can't wait!

So I'd like to here from anyone who has had it both positive and negative please I'm really hesitant and abit nervous :/

Thanks beautiful mummas! Enjoy the rest of your day ???

I had the implanon in, good news for me it was able to be removed very quickly. It really didn't agree with me at all. Basically I became suicidal almost over night. Once it was taken out (very quickly) my symptoms cleared up very quick.
Have you considered the nuva-ring? You insert it in your vagina and leave it in for three weeks, take it out and replace with knew one. I just used to set a reminder on my phone. I really liked the control I had over it. If I had a bad reaction I could take it out without a doctors appointment.

I had the implanon for 3 years.
I had zero bleeding for the entire 3 years, not even a drop.
I experienced no cramps or any other physical side effect.

However i did have sore breasts for 3 years, bad acne on my back, zero libido, and my hormones turned me into someone i didnt recognise.
My doctor didnt think these side effects warranted taking it out.
Within a week of having it removed i felt 1000x better.

My advice...try it, just be very very aware of the effects, they can creep up on you. And keep an eye on your mental health.
If after 6 mths you feel depressed, or your sex drive has dropped then i strongly suggest taking it out.
Goodluck i hope it works for you
