Hi IMs, my friend's ex has recently had his baby and at first she let him see him (only at her mother's house while her family constantly criticized every little thing he did with bub) but has now decided he is to have nothing to do with bub and told him he has to force her to get a DNA test. He just wants to be a good dad and be there for his child but she is refusing to let him. Just wondering if anyone knows the process of how to force the DNA test so that he can get custody. Who does he call or talk to? Are there any free services he can access? Is there anything his parents can do so that they can have access to bub too?

He can contact a family lawyer, or legal aid. Otherwise Google 'free legal advice' in your state and ring and they can advise what to do.
If he is on the birth certificate he doesn't need a DNA test and can contact a family dispute resolution (mediation centre) to get the process started of sorting visitation.
