Best cruise for family

What's the best type of cruise exiting Brisbane that won't cost an arm and leg for a family of 5? Without having to book at second room? Kids are young and would easily share a bed. Or 3 year old daughter would jump in bed with mum & dad. Really don't you only sleep in your rooms. Looking for our first cruise just around the coast until we know we have our sea legs.

We did a 4 night cruise last June with P&O from Brisbane to Airlie and back to get our sea legs, and didn't really enjoy it. Only 3 of us (son who was 11 at the time). Unless you book a suite, their cabins are all bunk beds so I am not sure what happens when you have a 5th person. We found it to be like a floating RSL. Way to many older people and really not a lot to do (wasn't warm enough to swim or lay by the pool). We loved our day at the reef though. Food was ordinary but the service to our room was outstanding. If we did a cruise again we would go with Carnival (out of Sydney). Their ships seem a lot more kid and parent friendly.
