What would you do?
I began my career 10 years ago, in this time I have made in my mission to learn every aspect of my position, engaging in continued education and becoming very respected in my position. 18months ago my family and I chose to move overseas. I was offered a position in the small country town we moved to 6 months before moving. I've now been in this job since moving and I've struggled from day one, the manager is a nasty vindictive bully. She treats myself and others with such disrespect. Myself and others are seriously unhappy but we are in a small country town with very limited positions in our field. We have spoken to the owners, we have tried every which way to get through to them, we have given constructive feedback in a positive manner but no change is made, they're close friends with this manager.
My question is should I leave and go into another profession, leaving the job I absolutely love to do something unlikely to make me as happy, but that doesn't have me leaving work each day frustrated or in tears? Is it worth it to not be bullied?? The bullying has a huge effect on my family and mental health despite my best efforts.

It's worth it not to be bullied. I've been in that type of workplace, similar situation, but loads of gas lighting. I now wished I'd left earlier. It's taken me years to recover completely.
Go get yourself a job elsewhere and maybe consider becoming self employed at some point.
There are options higher than the workplace if that's the way you want to go with it.
