predicting baby sex

Hey
Just found out by ultrasound this morning that we have been blessed with another child which is 7 weeks along.
Just wondering, going by the old wifes tale... Has anyone been able to predict their babys sex, going by the heart rate?
Our baby heart rate is 118 which is indicating a boy.
Either way weither a little boy or girl we will be happy as long as baby is healthy.

If anyone could also give me any old wives tales of predicting the sex would be greatly appreciated.... I think i would have a bit of fun testing the theories

Thank you everyone.

I tried many things for fun, ALL!!!! I repeat, ALL said I was having a girl. I have boys.
Just google gender old wives tales, and a tonne will come up.
I tried the Chinese calendar, the bicarb test, the ring test, heartbeat, the way I carried, the foods I was craving/eating. Again, ALL said girl. I have boys.
100% rubbish πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My newborn sons heartrate was 127 at 6 weeks and 3 days. I don't remember any of my other 3's heart rates. But early heart rate is not a good predictor of the sex of your baby.

Giving birth is the only guaranteed way to know πŸ˜‚
If I had a dollar for every person telling me I was having a girl because of how I was carrying I'd be rich, he was a boy lol.
All the old wives tales are just that, though a bit of fun to try, just don't go rushing out to buy a heap of blue stuff based on a heart rate or a ring tied to a hair etc lol.
If you're really desperate to know you can have the harmony test done at around 13 weeks (though it is expensive, it checks for downs syndrome as well) or at around 18 weeks their genitals are usually developed so you can tell on a scan.

Even the Harmony test isn't 100% though, I know someone who got told she was having a girl and he ended up being a boy!

There is no guarantee, however the harmony is the most reliable now days. It can only get a girl wrong (cannot incorrectly detect Y chromosome) but it isn’t likely. Possible, but highly unlikely.

Based on HR and everything else I was having a girl however he was well and truly a boy πŸ˜‚
