I love the name naia
However 2 people I know think it's an odd spelling and don't know how to pronounce it and think I should go with nya or naya ( like maya)
If you saw the name naia how would you pronounce it?

Like gaia or maya by with an n
I feel like niah will get like Mia but an n
I am considering the same name and spelling if I end up having a girl (currently 32 weeks - kept gender a surprise).
I am having the same worries that people won't know how to pronounce it. I considered spelling it different but don't like the look of it.
It's so difficult coming up with names!
I'm the same I don't like other spellings
I'm 95 % going to use it but wanted to just see what people thought about the pronoun citation
I'm thinking naia mahli
Yeah I'm pretty sure we're going with it. I had never heard of it until my partner suggested it. It's now the only girl name we agree on!
I really like Naia Mahli! I think if you like it - go for it! Thinking we will go with Naia Paige.
I love i s in girls name I think it makes it so pretty naia Paige rolls over so easy
Good luck !! Xx
My daughter has an unusual name Aurora and ppl always ask us to pronouce it or spell it, just the hazard u have with choosing an unusual name :)
I would pronouce it Nigh-a if I saw it written as Naia. Nya looks funny and Naya I would pronouce Nay-a.
When I saw your post I thought it was pronounced nigh-ah :-)
We had the same issue when deciding how to spell our sons name (Louis. .. thinking people would say Lewis) but in the end decided we'd spell it how we liked it and if people mispronounced it we'd just have to deal with it.
Best thing to do is choose the name/spelling you like best. .. its your child after all!
Even normal names get mispronounced. .. I have had that a lot with my name and it really hasn't effected me negatively... usually I just have a giggle with what people come up with sometimes :-)
Love the name! I spell it naiya, nya is too short and naya can still be pronounced nay-ya.
