School card

I'm having trouble looking up info on school card. How much does it actually grant. Last year I got nothing to tell me how much so I end up paying school uniform and other costs out side fees as I didnt know it covered them. But looking it up it says it covers school uniforms and excursions aswell but no one told me I still got letters from the school asking to pay excursions. I know the easiest option is to ask the school directly but I'm afraid of being embarresed or given incorrect information.
