How do I make myself more appealing to the work force? I'm 23, with two children (3yrs & 1.5yrs). Before falling pregnant I had only been in the workforce 3 years - grew up in the middle of nowhere so didn't get my first job until I was 17.5. I worked full time for those 3 years (3 different jobs 2 same boss). Fast forward to now and I am finding it impossible to be given a fair shot in the workforce. I have a cert 3 in both business admin and hospitality operations and RSA, also have started a BA in hospitality management. I have a professionally written CV and write individual cover letters each job I apply for. I live in a town with HEAPS of jobs, but no one is willing to give me a go... I've applied for 70 jobs in the past 3 months...resulting in 1 interview. No job. No one accepts resumes if you personally hand them in - get referred to their website to apply. I've even applied for jobs at McDonald's and the like. Actually had a job at maccas at the end of last year but had to leave because they didn't want to neogotiate hours, my fiancé works away at the mines so needed hours during the day instead of nights..volunteering although a great idea is impossible at the moment (no one to watch the kids during those times)
Being rejected so many times is started to get me down and makes me just want to give up...so how do I get myself noticed in the workforce?
