Morning sickness

Morning sickness

I’m nearly 6 weeks pregnant. My morning sickness is so bad, it’s all day. I’ve gotten wafers and other tablets from the doctor, it’s not help. I had my kids in daycare for the last 2 days and had my mum come help today because I physically can not move around without vomiting. Any tips? Please! I hate not being able to look after my own children or wash a damn plate 😖😖😖

I know it’s the last thing u feel like doing, but try to eat small snacks regularly - I didn’t eat for 3 days because the smell of anything just made me vomit, and I ended up in the hospital :/
but once I was on medication (maxalon), I took it every morning even if I wasn’t feeling sick when I woke up - I made myself eat something every few hours - making sure it was really bland, like toast or dry crackers. But smells and being in a car were my triggers, things I can’t really avoid - I stocked up on sick bags from the chemist and planted them all over the house/car. But almost as soon as I was 4 months along, it stopped, thank god! Just hold on to the hope that it shouldn’t last the whole time (I really hope it doesn’t for ur sake anyway!)

Are you taking ondansatron/zofran? If you are, but they given you the wafers instead of the tablets, tell them you need the tablets, its about getting the dose right too, I had severe morning sickness with all of my girls, hospitalised several times until they got me onto the tablets instead. Phenergan can also help, just be careful of the dose, as it can really knock you around. Hydralite orange icy poles are also helpful. I also had things like 'Nice' biscuits, redskin split icecreams, even little jars of baby custard helped.. strange I know! But you have to do whatever helps for you. As hard as it is, try your very best to take a sip of water every 10 minutes to keep hydrated. All the best

It sounds like you might need a fluid IV. If it's HG, no amount of small meals and crackers before you get out of bed will help. My only advice is not to let your doctors fob you off, I was literally vomiting blood and my doctor just kept prescribing maxalon and told me "it will settle", it did once I gave birth. Honestly, it amazes me my son was born healthy 7lb considering I had 9 months of nearly no sustenance.
