My partner gave our 8 week old a taste of his steak drippings a couple of nights ago (dipped his finger in the steak liquid and put it in his mouth) and now he has diarrhea. Coincidence? I'm a bit cranky as I heard breastfed babies don't normally get diarrhea. He had his 2 month needles plus Rotarix last Tues but surely the diarrhea that supposedly comes from that wouldn't come this late? He hasn't been anywhere so not sure how he could've picked it up.

Could be anything
Could be something you are in your breastmilk affecting him
Don’t go and blame your partner straight away
At 8 weeks old, your babies gut is not at all ready to have bacteria such as steak introduced. I wouldn't think it's a coincidence that he has diarrhoea now as a result.
Unfortunately he's done it and now this is the consequence, so I think just educating him and letting him know not to do this again in future is all you can do. It's not the end of the world, just an inconvenience :(
Actually, diarrhea can be quite a lot more than just an inconvenience in babies. It can become very serious quite fast.
I don't mean to scare you OP but if it goes on for a while, best take baby to the gp
Someone I know gave my baby ice cream at that age. I was so angry and there was similar consequences for my bub.
What's done is done of course but tell hubby not to be so stupid again!
It is also common for a bit of runny poo after vaccines too so keep that in mind.
Do keep an eye on the diarrhea, babies can quickly become dehydrated because of it.
Tastes like that are supported by more recent research so don't stress. And beef allergies are virtually impossible. The only recorded cases are people who have had multiple tic bites. Also, breastfeeding stops constipation not diarrhoea... Though medication or introducing solids or a medical condition can stop that from being correct. Runny poos in breastfed babies is quite common. There is also a lot of gastro going around and your baby could also be responding to something in your diet. If your baby is lethargic, feverish or you have any concerns that they are unwell or in discomfort see your GP or go to hospital. Plenty of mother's need the reassurance everything is OK and being cautious catches thing early if there is a concern. All the best.
Hey, my GP told me with the Rotarix diarrhoea was a side effect. I would just monitor it and make sure he doesn’t get worse, stops feeding or becomes lethargic. In which case if he does, head straight in and get him checked out. Hopefully the stress of bubs belly being sore and having tummy issues with prevent hubby from giving him taste test for a few more months. Best of luck and hopefully his tummy troubles resolve swiftly x
Look at the side affects of the vaccine. Too many kids suffer irreparable damage from vaccinations and the medical fraternity are too damned busy denying any connection, plus your husband has done the wrong thing.
Stop blaming vaccines, you ignorant twat.
A couple of nights ago suggests it may not be the cause at all.
It could be something that you ate.
Just monitor bubs and keep feeding regularly.
