Pregnancy after umbilical hernia surgery

Pregnancy after umbilical hernia surgery

Just wanting to hear from Mum’s who have had umbilical hernia surgery with mesh after pregnancy and if pregnancy after surgery caused any complications.

Is it possible to get pregnant again while having mesh inside your belly button?

Would like to hear from you.

I had a hernia post baby #2, wasn't technically an umbilicus hernia but was sort of at the entrance of my bellybutton.
I had the hernia repaired with keyhole surgery (mesh also inserted), unbeknownst to me I was actually about 3 to 4 weeks pregnant with #3 during my op.
I went on to have a perfectly normal pregnancy and my hernia repair held up well (especially considering baby was 10 pounds and I didn't really have time to heal from the surgery before my belly started to grow).

Just to add, the mesh is permanent and has no impact on your fertility or ability to conceive.

I got pregnant after having mine fixed the baby tore the site wide open it was so big the doctors were shocked when they went in to repair it half my insides were out of the hole it end up being a major operation to get everything back the way it's ment to be it destroyed me I had the op when baby was 4 months I couldn't hold her properly for months and 11/2 years later I'm still in constant pain, worse if I do to much in the day I have 5 kids so doing not much is not an option and docs can't do anything about the pain. But that's my story I'm sure every story is different
