My daughter is now 3 and I still haven't received her birth certificate. I filled out all the paperwork when I had her in hospital. And just never received it. I haven't really worried to now because she will be going to kindy soon and will need it.
I feeling sick though because I'm worried I might be fined or something because I haven't got it. Or maybe I didn't get it because I put father unknown??
I left her dad when I was 13 weeks pregnant. He would physically abuse me broke my bones my heart and soul. He tried his hardest to terminate my little girl, when I didn't go ahead with the abortion he took me to have.
He was the most evilest man I have ever come acros. I moved to the other side of the country to get away from him. So that's why I didn't put him on the birth certificate.
I'm just wondering why I haven't received it. But I'm scared to apply for it if I'm going to get into trouble.

You won't get in trouble! Did you receive a birth extract? Birth extract is what they send you when you register the birth, it's not a Birth Certificate but usually good enough for school enrolments etc. If you did not receive the extract you will need to contact them, go to the Births, Deaths and Marriages website for the state she was born and you will be able to find contact details. You will also be able to see how to get her birth certificate, there is a fee for the certificate and it takes a while to get sent to you.
You won’t get in trouble for not having one. People lose their certificates/extracts all the time. Just visit the website for births deaths & marriages in the state your daughter was born and order one. No biggie!!
Just go to births, deaths and marriages ask for a new one I think they cost like 80 dollars
I registered my daughter but didn't pay for a certificate. Didn't get any acknowledgement from them but picked up the birth certificate when my daughter was 4 with no issue.
In Queensland you have to pay for one to get one
Have you paid for it?
Do you get parenting payment? Does she have Medicare cover? Has she had jabs? Checkups? If yes then shes registered, you just need a replacement certificate. If No, then maybe she has never been registered. Thibk of it this way, it will need to be fixed sooner or later may as well do it asap.
It's illegal not to register the birth with BDM in ur state....It's free to do so but u need to pay for a birth cert and order it sep to get one.
You don't normally automatically get sent one - you have to apply for and order one. My folks didn't order ours (Tassie) until we were much older - like I was 10 or so - because they didn't need it. I ordered my daughter's when she was about 4 or so, to do kinder enrolment.
Yes! Exactly the same here (I actually didn't have a BC until I was 18).
My kids didn't have a birth cert until they were enrolled in school.
When you filled out the paper work did you send it to births deaths and marriages?
