Is it wrong of me to only want one child?

Is it wrong of me to only want one child?

Is it wrong or am I weak for only wanting one child??
I have a 15 month old and she is already a handful and I already feel like I’m failing as a parent.
She watches too much tv, she head butts things like the floor and I can’t handle her meltdowns.
The last 2 times we have been to the shops she has thrown tantrums and I’m so embarrassed 😞
I’m on my own with bub every 2nd week as dad works away and I suffer with depression and anxiety. I’m doing well mentally at the moment but I still can’t handle bubs meltdowns 😞

Not wrong at all. I have 2 and often wish I only had one.

There's nothing wrong with only having 1 child.
It's actually a strength to know your limits, a lot of women have more kids they can't cope with because they feel like they need to.
If my youngest daughter was my first, I wouldn't have had more because she is so full on.

Your daughter is at a tough age too, a lot of people aren't even thinking about having more at this stage. You don't need to commit to a decision either way just yet.

Just focus on your mental health and your daughter for the time being, you'll know what's right for you!

No. I became a mum at 34 and only had one, by choice. We had ivf (lucky first go) but I had a difficult pregnancy and he was born 6 weeks I prem. I knew as soon as I held him in my arms he would be my only child. He was a great baby and is growing into a fantastic young man (now 15). I have never yearned for another baby and he has never worried about not having siblings. I wouldn’t change anything.

There is no rule that states that you have to have a set amount of children! Enjoy her! Celebrate the wins! Vent about the fails - we all have them! I have a 3.5 year gap between my two and it has been perfect for me! They get easier! But you may never feel like adding to your family that’s ok too!!

Not wrong at all. Just be sure to be open and honest with your husband about it

I have 3 and wish I stopped at 2. There’s no shame in knowing your limits.

No it’s not wrong at all, don’t be so hard on yourself. You need to be tough on her, dont let her watch so much tv if you think it’s too much. Maybe think about child care 1-2 days a week to have some time out. don’t be so hard on yourself though.you are not failing at all. Ask every Mum, we all think we are failing most of the time.In actual fact we are doing a bloody good job! It’s hard enough struggling with depression as it is. It’s also very difficult having a partner work away.
