I'm packing my hospital bag ready to be induced in a couple weeks.
What are your must haves to take into a public hospital? Even tell me just the basics, I'd like to make sure I haven't forgotten anything

Notebook and Pen. Phone charger. Dont know if still relevant but coins for machines. Medicare card.
Lots of big knickers, maternity pads and dark pjs or trackpants and singlets. Comfy clothes. Jelly beans. Cakes. Nuts. Dried fruit. Packaged foods to have as snacks anytime.
Plastic bags for dirty clothes.
Toothbrush hairbrush deodorant lip balm toothbrush and your own toiletries/makeup if you want.
For baby- nappies, wipes, onesie, singlets, wraps, bottles and formula or multimums and breast pads.
Number 1 thing I tell every expectant mum who asks this question -
URAL SATCHETS!
They take the acidity out of your urine, if you're unfamiliar with them.
They're literally your best friend when your hoo ha is sore and inflamed after pushing out an entire human!
Other than that and assuming you'll pack for a standard 3 day stay:
Wipes, more than you think you'll need.
Nappies, a whole packet to be safe.
10 singlets.
10 suits.
4 wraps.
1 thick blanket.
A beanie if you're in a cool climate.
Dummies.
Vaseline (better than sudo or bepanthen creams in my opinion).
10 pairs of undies at least.
Lightweight, comfortable clothes.
Slippers.
Good quality maternity pads and nursing pads.
Moisturiser and lip balm (hospital air is so dry).
Phone charger.
Toiletries, (I literally forgot to pack shampoo and my toothbrush with my first - I think I forgot I was headed to hospital not a hotel 😂).
Plastic bag to send home dirty washing in.
Little things to snack on, because, hospital food 🤢
A note pad and pen (handy to jot down feed times etc).
That's pretty much it really!
Phone charger, laptop /tablet with movies to keep you awake if trying to breastfeed late at night, earphones for shared rooms, sanitary pads, nipple shields, nipple cream/pads, comfy pajamas that are easily removed, pear juice or anything else to help you poop if you end up with a c section, an outfit for bubs, some wipes and newborn nappies and your spouse/partner /mum/dad etc phone number because anything you need they can fetch. Don't forget, going public, you'll probably be kicked out 30 seconds after having the baby
Forget the undies/maternity pads. Go for the depends underwear - used after my csection with no 2 and AMAZING. They rip at the sides to take them off, high enough to support your poor deflated belly and don’t move around like pads. So much more comfortable!!
