I had sex with my partner a week and a half ago without a condom, but after having my Implanion Contraception Bar inserted three weeks beforehand. I have had the Implanion Contraception Bar previously and it worked really well without any periods.
I could be crazy, but I feel I may be pregnant. About a week after we had sex, I began to lightly bleed which lasted a couple of days although my period isn't during for another week from today... it was light enough that it could only really be seen on toilet paper when I wiped and it was light pink/brown. A couple of times it was a brighter red but still very light. Just before this bleed, during and even now it's stopped my sore boobs have been heavy and sore, I've been emotional, I've had headaches, my whole body has felt sore, I usually feel a bit sick after eating, I've been overwhelmingly tired and very nauseous without vomiting (sick in the belly, cramps, tight throat, lots of burping, a couple of "vomits in the mouth"). I just have this feeling in my lower belly, but could I just be feeling it because I'm overthinking it? I feel it's too soon just yet to take a test... could this have been implantation bleeding and could I be pregnant?
I did at first question if my period had come a bit early and was lighter because the Implanion Contraception Bar has taken affect... or simply a random bleed as my body adjusted to it... but I never get so sore, overwhelmingly tired or nauseous on my period... this just all feels so different!

Is what you're experiencing side effects of implanon? When I got the mirena it took about 6 months to trust it! I must have done 10 pregnancy tests in that time. Hopefully this is just a combination of the implanons side effects and you not fully trusting it yet, but I would still buy some tests just to put your mind at rest whenever is needed!
Likely not. They’re all symptoms that occur on the implanon and it effects everyone differently. As you’ve just had it replaced the surge of hormones may just be messing with you.
I have used implanon for 8 years, I'm on my 3rd one. Each and every implanon I have had has had a different effect on me (for probably the first 6 months til my body adjusts). Implanon is notorious for giving one really convincing pregnancy symptoms and it becomes effective after 7 days of insertion, so it would be really unlikely you're pregnant but of course not impossible.
The only way to put your mind at ease is to do a test though.
I had pregnancy symptoms on implanon it was horrible.
Hi ladies,
Thanks for your responses so far - this was my post! I've read everything I could find and I'm hoping it's just side affects of the Implanion Contraception Bar. I never had any symptoms the first time... this time around I feel I have gotten pretty much every pregnancy symptom and it's really hit me like a bus! I will take a test in maybe another week if symptoms persist, just for peace of mind. So crazy!
An online post is not a pregnancy test. Go get tested.
Yes, you're showing symptoms. But sometimes phantom pregnancies happen.
