I'm wanting to move not sure where to yet. Not with my sons dad he has very little contact (his choice) no court orders in place. Can he stop me from moving is their a distance I have to stay within? If so can I leave the state as long as it's within the distance?

It's probably best to speak to a lawyer. There are free over the phone services. People will give you all kinds of opinions that don't reflect the law. Is there a parenting plan in place?
If there is no parenting plan or court orders etc in place you can move to a different state without him stopping you. If he finds out he can go to court to prevent you from doing so but my sis is a family lawyer and says courts can be pretty lenient with these things if you show the positives of you moving and the lack of help from the father. You wont be able to move overseas without consent.
