Hi, recently had my sons hearing checked and audiologist said he's all good. But I'm not convinced. He has trouble concentrating in noisy rooms and with loud noises/voices he says he can't understand. Anyone on here with a kid with apd? What are their problems and how were they tested. He's getting tested for autism soon but I want to make sure it's not apd that's causing his symptoms

Auditory processing disorder is tested by an audiologist too. But not until after a certain age. Talk to the person who did the standard hearing test.
I don’t have a kid with it, but I have it myself, along with high functioning autism. I wasn’t diagnosed until later in life so maybe the process is different
I have an DS8yo with APD. He does speech therapy and that really helps! I also make sure he gets accomodations at school like - written/picture instructions, seated at front of class, extra time to process anything, varied homework to accomodate speech homework, help cards, templates/breakdown for writing or maths problems. Best thing was getting the speech therapist to write a letter of diagnosis and needs at school with information on APD. I’ve found a lot of ignorance out there with this condition.
Found this article just after I saw your question. Admittedly I didn't fully read the article, but what I did read looks like it might help you a little with some of your questions.
