Mature age apprenticeship

My husband is getting serious about starting a mature aged apprenticeship . We already researched the pay rates but wondering if there’s any extra assistance from Centrelink?

I was ripped off and under paid then fired when fair work found out. You might get some assistance from Centrelink but you should ring them and ask

My partner did one. Luckily I was promoted about the same time he was accepted. I was only on 50K per year salary and we had no assistance. If it wasn't for that promotion we couldn't have afforded it.

My husband did one. He was good so his boss paid him full rates by his 2nd year so he was on 90k a year. He finished 8 years ago and the only change in his wage is the occasional pay rise for inflation.

My husband did one. Best decision he has made. Pay should be 3/4 the base rate of a fulltime tradie. We weren't entitled to any extra from Centrelink other than FTB but thats because he earnt a decent wage. If he needs tools I think you can get an intrest free or low fee loan from the government.

Austudy but only if you're on a low income, not sure what the cut off is. Also depends if he is doing the whole thing as a paid apprentice or tafe.
