Special needs teacher needs new path

I need a new job with less stress. A bit of background- I'm a primary school teacher working in special needs education (students with disabilities). I work part time but with all the extras it may as well be full time. There are aspects of my job which I enjoy- the admin side which entails data input, liaising with therapists etc, planning and developing curriculum and goals. The part I struggle with is working with the children, I know that sounds terrible. Before I had my own kids I lived and breathed my work but my priorities have changed. While I love kids, I don't want to be a teacher. The stress is making me unwell. Does anyone have any LEGITIMATE ideas as to where I could channel the skills that I do enjoy? Definitely no selling from home/party planning type ideas please. Thanks. PS, based in Cairns

You don't sound terrible, I've worked in the disability sector and although I loved my job the physical and emotional stress takes it toll and eventually you need to move away from working directly with the children. You could look at doing something like PECS certification so you can train other people to implement and take on more of a consulting/training job.
Otherwise you maybe able to study to be a psychologist if your up for the study? That involves lots of data collection and curriculum development in childhood psychology and is almost zilch talk therapy.
