anxious about going back to work

anxious about going back to work

My husband is pending loss of licence at witch point he will loose his job, there is no option of "working licence" at this point because he only held a p2 licence at the time he got pulled over.
So I think our only option is for me to go back to work after having almost 5 yrs off and two children..... I have forgotten everything, and my resume is completely useless now. I feel so anxious about the whole thing :( I'm reading job applications saying well I knew how to do that 5 yrs ago but now I have no clue where to even start....
It's made me realise my total lack of self confidence in being an adult that does things without kids. I don't even like going to the shops without them because I feel awkward and don't know how to act or where my hands be other then on a pram -_-
Im not sure if I have a question just hoping someone else sorted it out better then I am atm :(
Thanks xox

I know how you feel! I used to be so confident at work and well respected but after a period of time off I'm a nervous wreck! I know when I'm going back so have started pretending to work, and it's coming back to me. I'm sure part if your issue is you were not expecting to go back anytime soon. Good luck

I know how you feel and it is hard! It's more the anxiety that's worse than actually finding/doing a job. I know it sounds bad to lie but I would just write/say that you have just been helping with husbands business or something at home instead of "haven't worked in 5 yrs" as I know employers are put off by this! depending on the job of course... I know you can make good money as a full time cleaner in a nursing home and you don't need anything for that, and it might just put your foot in the door. Also local community centres offer tech support for older people maybe if you attend you can just get a refresh course. Or go to a few quick courses at a tafe to refresh your mind and help with resume. Good luck
