Pregnancy

Hi ladies,
So I’m about to turn 35 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive since I had the implant removed in January I’m starting to get a bit worried that it hasn’t happened as yet. For 2 months I have been tracking my period and trying a bit more during ovulation. I understand I have to see a doctor very soon but should I be trying anything before seeing a doctor.
It’s really starting to get me down because I feel like I’m running out of time l already have a 10 year old and would love just 1 more.
Also when I do go to the doctor what should I expect?
I understand that my lifestyle might be a bit of a factor I’m a bit overweight a size 12-14 and I smoke

You need to give your body time when coming off contraception, at least a good 12 months (I know you are a little older but it isn’t enough for you to say you’re struggling yet).

Have a chat to your doctor if you feel necessary but your body needs time to begin ovulating and in a routine again :)

Try and relax and if you feel the need to track do so, but sex 3 times a week should be plenty!

I read an article recently about women using menstrual cups to conceive by inserting after intercourse to keep the mans sperm up there.

The whole legs up cups in there stuff is all just crap, the man shoots millions if not billions of sperm and it travels where it needs to. There’s so much that is released there’s no need to interfere with all these strange methods.

I don't know how much truth is to it but I concieved both my kids in the first month of trying and if always hang upside down off the bed and avoiding peeing until the morning.
Both kids were concieved the first month, and we only had sex three times both times during ovulation period.
Could be very fertile, but I also think it does help to keep the spermies nice and high up in there

It took me over 3 years to fall pregnant after using the implant. Not sure if they are at all related as it Is our first pregnancy. However in this time I gave my entire life an overhaul, I lost 30kg, exercised daily, ate well, drank minimally, stopped taking all medications and just began to enjoy life and focus less on conceiving. I made all of these changes last year amd was pregnant the beginning of Feb this year! Best of luck x

My husband always says we only conceived when we stopped smoking!! He’s probably right - it’s happened 4 times now.
Definitely try to kick the habit and start some light exercise - it might just work!
