Im currently not working. I recieve a carers payment for my child. I do hope to return to work in the next year. However does anyone know if I can put money into a super fund fortnightly whilst im not working? Im really concerned about my financal status into the future.

You sure can. Just contact your super fund and get their BPAY details and deposit into your super account whenever you like.
Absolutely, you can make concessional contributions up to 25k and non concessional up to 100 k, talk to your super fund. Concessional are tax deductible, but given you have no income, there is nothing to deduct against and you pay 15% contributions tax. So with no income or under the tax free threshold you would be better off making non concessional because you don’t pay 15% contributions tax. But again, talk to your super fund. Get the payment options and make your contributions like a bank transfer.
I remember reading about the governments "dollar for dollar" thing they had going for people making extra payments, no idea who qualifies or if it's even still going but worth a look into.
