Help a terrified mum to be out!
I have recently found out my partner and I are expecting. Whilst over the moon, I am also completely terrified, as I am 35 and overweight, not too mention that I have a 14yr old!!
I have been researching the health complications and have no illusions that it will be risky.
Hoping to hear from other "Mature" mums. Tips, ideas.
Thank you

35 really isn't that old to have kids! All you can do is eat healthy and get advice from your GP/midwife and a dietician. Goodluck!
I plan on being 35 and pregnant next year and I’ll have a 13 nearly 14 year old and I’m excited to be doing it, also overweight and currently on a health kick to ensure pregnancy is a healthy one. I was overweight when I was 33 and pregnant too. Don’t over think this!!!
35 is not mature by today's standards. I have friends on their mid 40's just starting their families. I had my first babe very overweight (110kg) apart from gestational diabetes, I had the easiest pregnancy and birth and a perfect 2 year old :-)
It will be most likely not "risky" at all.
Neither will being overweight.
I was 133+kg "morbidly obese", had no complications whatsoever!!!
Enjoy your pregnancy, and don't read about the "risks". The chances of complications at your age, very slim!
It is actually classed as a geriatric pregnancy in medical speak. I was 35 and it was my best and easiest all round.
I think the hardest thing could be your fitness /weight, you could start walking, swimming and stretching.
I was morbidly obese with both my kids. No complications and vaginal births.
Don't stress but be prepared for some doctors to pass their judgement.
Enjoy the pregnancy
Stress less - I am 35 overweight and pregnant currently 34 weeks. Although it’s not ideal being overweight to begin with I have only gained 3-4kg so far. When you weigh more you gain less if you take it easy and don’t fall prey to the eating for 2 nonsense. All the best
take charge. Dont forget this is your own story you write it.I was 33 with my last not long recovered from cancer surgery and 120kg. I decided I had 2 options be scared and wonder what if or make a healthier lifestyle.
I didnt diet but I ate healthier and walked every day I started small off around the block then gradually went further and further.
I actually ended up lighter them when i started. Had a beautiful healthy baby boy naturally. I was told I'd have to have a csection and i went why and made an informed decision which my doctor was on board with and had a completely natural birth no drugs. It was my easiest birth out of 3 (9yr and 13 yr age gaps). A supportive medical team helped me but most importantly was me taking control of my life. It was the kick in the pants I needed
I had a picture perfect pregnancy. By the time I gave birth at 35 I was 155kg (put on 20kg) and had a completely natural childbirth no interventions. I stayed active throughout. You can do it. Trust your body and listen to your instincts.
