Only Children & the Social Isolation Reality

As we all face self isolation to stop the spread of covid-19, some states have closed schools while others are leaving it up to parents (this may change again by the time this is posted). What i'm beginning to realise, from listening carefully to experts on programs like Q&A, is that this situation could go for a very long time (weeks, months, a year?!).

I'm a single mum of a beautiful 7 year old little boy. I'm not worried about me, i'm worried for the quality of life for my child. With no siblings & no school or playdates or any of the usual ways our kids socialise, how are other parents feeling about this? What are your plans? What are your worries? Kids need other kids! I'm at a loss, i'm overwhelmed & i'm scared. Can anyone shine a little sunshine on something thsts getting darker by the minute?

My son's not an only child but he spent pretty much all afternoon video chatting with his mates, I know what you mean though, it's really not the same as interacting in person but it won't be forever.
