moving debacle

My partner and I live in rural Victoria we love the country have grown up around footy camping and rivers /fishing. However we are both currently unemployed and have been for some, limited education opportunities for our children and myself wanting to do a Bach of education. However we are not well travelled and have no idea were to move. We'd love some where like we are but obviously with more opportunities and maybe more. We have no family here so we're not leaving much behind and have considered moving to sa where my family live but both agree we are concerned we won't adapt to city life and have been told sa are not big on the footy fishing and camping in fact we've been told there is no where to camp river fish unless you travel miles. What are other thoughts esp families with similar interests in sa. Or those more travelled who may have ideas on places we may consider. We have considered mildura and Bendigo similar to were we live but not another of a change and hate Melbourne so that's ruled out. Love some feedback.

I live in SA it depends where you live. There is a lot of footy around, in fact it drives be nuts. I also camp, and know people who do a lot of fishing. My experience from moving around a bit is a place is what you make it. If you don't sign the kids up for sports then you won't get that out of the location! We have two local AFL teams so you will get to see your teams play. There are still plenty if places in adelaide where you can have the benefits of suburbia but not be in a city. Adelaide does not have the traffic issues, large groups of apartments that other cities have. As far as fishing most places are not far from the coast so you can fish of jetties and there is the Murray river that is doable as a day trip. If you have family here my advice is come for a visit and really get a feel for the place, which you should do before moving anywhere.

Thankyou for your response definitely something positive to hear. My family live in the christies beach, norlunga, morphett and jackhammer area where I grew up as a child before moving to Vic at a young age however this is as much as I know of Adelaide. Is there any chance you can recommend areas that may be suitable that feel like surburbia and camping spots ?

I think it would be worth looking down south. Even places like victor harbour, my compass might suit you. The southern expressway goes both ways now so driving is good. Other wise Murray Bridge might suit you. There definitely is local footy and sports clubs in those areas and basically anywhere south would give you easy access to beaches etc.

Thanks also to any viewers if all else fails and we jump in and give it a go (Sa) where would you say the cheaper surburbs in adeliade would be looking at $250 under $300 max as unemployed atm. Then flip the join and suggest the better areas to live or definately do not go areas.

Melbourne is a big place and you can live on the country outskirts and still feel close to good job opportunities and education.
If you can find someplace between Ballarat and Melbourne you might find something that's suitable.

The Mornington Peninsula is beautiful. We have a uni/TAFE in Frankston and there are plenty of places to choose from. I'm from rural area originally (small beach town) and after 4 years in Brisbane we moved here. It's the perfect combination of plenty of opportunities with a quieter feel.
