Unable to urinate after pregnancy

I’m just wondering if anyone has had problems urinating after giving birth for a long period of time?
For me, It has been over 5 weeks since I gave birth and I am still unable to pass urine myself, I am currently self catheterising 4 hourly to empty my bladder. I sometimes get the Sensation that I need to go but unfortunately it doesn’t come out.
I have googled and googled and not found much information. I feel this is rare and see no light at the end of the tunnel so I’m wanting to hear if anyone else has had this happen and what your experience was and outcome if your willing to share…
I have been working with the continence specialist and been referred to a urologist and physio also.
