Egg freezing

Egg freezing

Hi, I’m 36 going on 37 and wanting to freeze my eggs as I’m not ready to have a child at present. I’ve seen some places online ‘chill egg freeze’ ‘city fertility’ ‘ivf Australia’ ‘Queensland fertility group’ ‘Adora’ ‘life fertility clinic’ and ‘rainbow fertility.’ I’m just wondering if anyone knows of any of these places or if there are any forums/websites I can obtain reviews? I’m brisbane based and open to recommendations. Also open to words of wisdom. Finally, is treatment relatively discreetly eg while I’m working and in a relationship can it be kept a secret or will it be obvious I’m having treatment? Health wise I’m healthy, have had endometriosis (stage2/3) removed. Thanks in advance :-)

I think it’s a good idea to read this article.

There is also a really good Insight episode on sbs that has input from professionals and women who have been down the road.

While freezing eggs might be right for you, it’s important to know that success rates from them are still relatively low. We tend to hear about the success stories and not realise how many people it didn’t work for.

I went through Monash IVf in Townsville and we saw Dr Steve Mokrzecki.

I had full IVF not just egg collection and freezing. I got 15 eggs, 9 fertilized, 5 embryos, 4 transferred over 12 months and we got 0 babies out of that.
It cost us $15,000 for the IVF and transfers plus $ 950 each 6 month to keep them frozen.

We had unexplained infertility but were told during IVF and each transfer that everything looked perfect and hormone level were great but it just didn't happen for us. We were 33 & 34 at our 4th transfer.

We ended up getting pregnant naturally a year later and we had our second child naturally also at 36 and 37. IVF and egg freezing isn't always going to give you positive results but a lot of women are getting pregnant naturally and assisted in their mid to late 40's
