Family Holiday.

Family Holiday.

Hello, just asking everyone's thoughts on holidays in Noosa (QLD), or surrounding areas for a family holiday. My youngest wants to go to Australia zoo as well. What month is a good time to go. Has to be after June this year. I have 4 kids, 9, 12, 15 and 17. Want it to be memorable as probably the last family holiday for awhile, because of kids schooling etc.
Thank you.

I live near Noosa and anytime (weather wise) is a great time to visit although the school holidays (especially the June/July ones) are always busy. This end of the Sunshine Coast is expensive especially during school holidays as most of the accommodation is 5 star. Coolum (20 mins south of Noosa) is also great and not quite as busy as Noosa. The Zoo is about a 50 min drive from Noosa as is Aussie World. Another great alternative is Mooloolaba/Alex Headland. Lots of accommodation opposite the beach. Great places to eat, close to Sealife and not as far to drive to the Zoo/Aussie World. If you are flying in the airport is between Noosa & Mooloolaba. The southern end (Caloundra) also has great beached etc but it reminds me of the Gold Coast so I stay away.

I like Noosaville and Mooloolaba, check out air bnb for better priced Acom for all of you. We usally stay at Noosaville and go for a drive around Noosa. Bit expensive to stay in Noosa especially with the kids. My kids loved kayaking in Noosaville, great restaurants and take away options, accomodation etc.weather then should be fine but who knows with the way it has been lately.

If you wait until around September you can take a day trip to Hervey Bay to go whale watching.
Just before NYE this year my partner and I drove home from a holiday in the Noosa area and the line up to get in to the zoo was right back into Beerwah. I'd suggest you check with the kids teachers if you can bail out a few days early or go back a few days late just to avoid the school holiday period rush.
