Has anyone had a baby after weight loss surgery- in particular a gastric bypass?
I’m seeing my surgeon next week and I’m starting to feel anxious about the fact that I may we have another baby. My daughter is 4 and while she is enough and is my entire world I always thought I would have more than 1 child.
I’m 37, so the clocks ticking… seriously thinking I should have a baby before surgery… I’m morbidly obese, have high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and chronic back pain- hence the need for surgery….
Just hoping to get a few opinions from others that may have experienced the same…
Has anyone regretted only having 1 baby?

My SIL has had her 2nd and third children after weight loss surgery. If you have health problems I would think it's better to wait until after you have lost weight before having another as you will be high risk for complications. Ask your surgeon they will know how long to wait for pregnancy etc.
It’s quite common to have the weight loss surgery so that you can get pregnant. The chances that your fertility is at its best now, aren’t great anyway and no judgement from me (I’m currently on weigh loss medication) but you aren’t in a great place physically to have a baby right now.
Get the surgery, your health will improve quite quickly, and then reassess.
If you need ti seek help with fertility later you will be much better placed to start treatment. Right now if you go seek help for fertility they will want you to loose weight and get your risk factors down:
